LAUSANNE, Switzerland, 28 June 2001 - The drawing of lots for the 2001
Women's Junior World Championship in Dominican Republic was conducted on
27th June at the Plaza Hotel in Santo Domingo.
Mr. Luiz Mendoza, President of the NORCECA Confederation conducted the
drawing of lots ceremony in the presence of representatives of 13 of the
16 participating countries, the Sports Minister of Dominican Republic, Mr.
Cesar Cedeno and over 30 journalist.
The composition of the four pools is as follows :
Pool A : DOM, ITA, VEN, ALG
Pool B : CUB, CRO, ARG, TUR
Pool C : BRA, USA, GER, CZE
Pool D : CHN, KOR, TPE, POL
The World Championship will be played from 1st - 9th August in Santo
Domingo and Santiago.
Sixteen teams were qualified to compete in Santo Domingo, Dominican
Republic 1 -9 Sept. 2001
