In Rosario, the italian team beat Argentina in the first match by 3-0 and it's the leader
of Pool A.
Before a full stadium and an enthusiastic crew, the italian team had some trouble getting
started, and Argentina reached the first time out. Right after that, though, Italy started
climbing with the attacks of Cisolla and Zlatanov and they were tied at point 24. At that time,
a doubtful decision of the control table triggered an argument with the italian players.
But finally, an attack from Zlatanov closed the set 25-27.
The second set, with Milinkovic in Argentina's starting line up, developed similarly,
with several serve and attack mistakes. Mirko Corsano, the Italian libero, helped Italy improve
its game with his outstanding performance in reception and dig. Cisolla reached 15 points
and added strength in the line of attack. The set finished 29-31.
In the third and last set, Italy got hold of the match and destroyed Argentina's dream of
reaching the finals that will take place in Poland. Argentina's attack couldn't overcome the
effective Italian block throughout the set. The final result of the set was 14-25.
