First set started with the Teams winning and losing the first points. Then, an incredible point by the help of Miljkovic at the result 6:3, making Herrera ask for TO. Passes of Nikola Grbic proved to be excellent again. Too eager to win, the concentrationof the YUG Team broke soon, and they weren't able to consolidate, losing thus the first set.

Both Teams made a lot of mistakes in the second set, especially in the service, but the YUG Team was better in blocks and defense. CUB tried to break through their defense but didn't succeed, and the second set was won by the YUG Team, inciting the public to support them even more.

Cuban Head Coach substituted his players, playing the tactics to break in the block and defense, but Zoran Gajic made some very brave moves, introducing other players and having at some moment three setters on the court.

Even though both Teams qualified, they played equally strong, even stronger and heavier than in Novi Sad. Unbelievably long rallyes excited everyone in the hall and finally after many mistakes of both Teams, scoring points on both sides, YUG Team succeeded and won the fourth and last set, and match.
