Lexington, Ky. – The American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) is pleased to announce Wilson Sporting Goods Co. as its newest partner.  The two parties have come to terms on a three-year agreement that will name Wilson the “Official Volleyball of the AVCA Sand Volleyball Championship.”

The new partnership will be celebrated at the upcoming AVCA Convention, Dec.14-18, in San Antonio, Texas, where Wilson will provide balls and carts for all the U.S. Silica Sand Court educational sessions.  Wilson will also provide the sand volleyballs as well as carts and bags for the AVCA Sand Volleyball Championship.
      
During the term of the agreement, Wilson will provide the AVCA with sand volleyballs to be used by the AVCA for community outreach purposes and grassroots development.

"Wilson is honored to partner with the AVCA and provide them with the best volleyballs for their sand volleyball tournaments,” said Enrico DiMario, Wilson's Global Business Manager for Volleyball.  “This partnership represents Wilson's continued commitment to the sport of volleyball – both indoor and outdoor – as we look to help the student athletes achieve all of their sports goals.  The AVCA has always been an integral part of growing the sport of collegiate volleyball, and we feel privileged to be associated with the AVCA as we look to grow this sport together."  

“We are excited about making Wilson part of the team that is helping to launch Sand Volleyball as a collegiate sport,” said AVCA Executive Director Kathy DeBoer. “While interest in this new sport is high and we anticipate robust growth in the coming years, right now the numbers are small and resources are minimal.  Wilson’s investment is important and will help the AVCA, the institutions with varsity programs and our other partners put together a quality championship.”
