Russia def. Yugoslavia 3-0 (25-23, 25-20, 25-22)
"In the first match of the World League finals Yugoslavia took right away the lead. Altough the distance between the two teams during the first set wasn't more than two/three points, the Yugo's were always ahead. Aspecially the brothers Grbic sowed right away there strenght. After the second technical time out ( at 16-15) Russia took over the initiative. One of the most striking players was Roman Iakovlev who took some important points, and leaded his team to the first set winnning, 23-25.
The second set sowed the same image, altough in the middle part of the set both teams made pretty much errors. Both teams made too much serve faults. In the last part of the set Russia again sowed more stability and took and took the second set with 20-25. "
